Overview of INcontrol©
INcontrol© is not a safety program - it is a safety management
system that enables safety programs to become more effective.
Incontrol's©
initial phase applies a unique statistical approach to a client's
safety process. Reviewing existing data in ways never before
thought of INcontrol© provides the client with initially
two major deliverables - which of their processes are "out
of control" and which of their employees are "out
of control". (In both cases, "out of control"
is defined as statistically producing unwanted results significantly
different from the majority of the group being reviewed.)
Incontrol's©
second phase implements an intervention action with both the
"out of control" employees and processes.
Incontrol's©
third phase offers local management suggestions and recommendations
for improvements that will strengthen their current safety
effort.
This all can be
accomplished - depending on the size of the company - within
2-3 months at a cost that is significantly less than the savings
generated through reduced injuries.
INcontrol©
has been developed and refined over the last five years. It
has been successfully used in manufacturing and transportation
environments. For example, of the employee's that were identified
as " out of control" and subsequently participated
in all phases of INcontrol©, 87 - 90% never received
an injury again. Although the client can use this management
system once and gain some benefits…annual or semi-annual
use will prove far more effective.
